Carolyn’s losses have been enormous. She has gone through the death of two beautiful children, as well as her husband, grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, many extended family members, friends, and pets. She has also experienced personal health losses, jobs, home, dreams, possibilities, relationships and at times the loss of who she was. To say Carolyn has experienced many facets of grief would be an understatement.
Carolyn is also known as Carrie, and her radio name was Scout. Carolyn has lived in Missouri, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, New Hampshire and now, California. She grew up in a hard-working blue collar family, learning about the tough times life can bring through her family’s struggles and losses. From childhood, she learned to be a survivor.
Carolyn met her husband in the fall of 1968, they married in the spring of 1970 and moved to Alaska in 1974. Her husband of 46 years passed away in Alaska in 2014 and she continued to live in Alaska until 2016. Carolyn and her husband were blessed with twin sons, born in 1974. Due to a horrendous carbon monoxide accident, they died in 1976. In 1978, they were, once again, gifted with their third son who has blessed them with a daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters.
Carolyn enjoyed many careers in her 50+ years as a working woman. Some of the roles she has held are:
- Cosmetology, for over 50 years.
- Performed as a Radio Announcer with her husband.
- Continuity Director, Copy Writer, and Radio Advertising Sales for a number one Country music Morning Show.
- HR Employment Counselor and Search Firm Recruiter.

- Column writer in a military newspaper, called “Ask Mom”, giving guidance to military and their families.
Carolyn retired in 2014 as the Family Assistance Coordinator/Life Coach for the Alaska National Guard, a position she is very proud and humbled to have served. Carolyn has over 40 years experience as a Life Coach, using her skills, knowledge and trainings to help others.
Carolyn’s greatest passion is helping others find their own positive life paths, to realize what a miracle they are and how much they have to offer this life they have been gifted with, to help people discover the tools that will help them obtain the goals they’ve set and to maneuver through hardships and grief, in order to live their best life right where they are.
